Jon Chamberlain

VCEDC Board Treasurer & Owner of Accounting Firm

Jon grew up in Appleton but has spent many summers with his family in the Northwoods camping and working at several resorts in the area. Jon’s roots in the Northwoods go back to his great-grandparents, who owned and managed Sand Beach resort on South Trout Lake, his grandfather, who worked on the Milwaukee Road railroad during the logging hey-days and his father, who lived and worked in the area when he was younger.

Jon graduated from UW-Whitewater in 1984 and moved to Lake Geneva to pursue his accounting career. He started his own firm in Lake Geneva in 1999 where he continues working today. His practice focuses on individual and business tax preparation and consulting, and specializes in audits of nonprofits, homeowners’ associations and school districts.

Jon has been involved in his community throughout his career including being an active member of the Lake Geneva Jaycees for almost 20 years, resurrecting the Lake Geneva United Way and overseeing the merger of the Lake Geneva United Way with the Delavan-Darien United Way to form the United Way of Walworth County. Jon also currently serves on the board of the Lake Geneva Economic Development Corporation and is a member of the Walworth County Economic Development Alliance.

Jon and his wife, Yolanda, have recently purchased a home in Sayner and eventually will be retiring to the Northwoods to pursue their hobbies of fishing, hiking, biking, hunting and snowmobiling.
