April Leanna is the proud founder of Starlight Centers for Inclusion Inc. and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) licensed to provide behavioral treatment in the state of Wisconsin. She has a Masters in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), as well as extensive experience working with individuals with varied extra needs. She has worked with children as young as 18 months to adults 45 years old in family home, residential, clinical, community, and center-based programs. April currently acts as a Licensed Supervisor for Starlight’s behavioral treatment programs and offers training and consultation to individuals, families, professionals, and community organizations. Her work includes assisting community organizations with inclusive social opportunities and sensory sensitive events for individuals with autism and their peers.
In 2016, April graduated from a business startup course, now called Nicolet Entrepreneur Training (NET) program, offered through a partnership with the VCEDC and Nicolet College. Through the course, April was able to develop and implement her business plan, founding Starlight in 2016. Mentorship and ongoing consultation through the VCEDC were an integral part of the development and success of Starlight.
April is proud to now serve as a board member for the same VCEDC that was so instrumental in her business startup journey. She hopes to inspire and assist others, including future business owners with disabilities and businesses interested in modifying their business model to include folks with extra needs. It is April’s intention to inspire as many of our capable rising stars to shine as bright as possible amongst our wonderful Northwoods. We are all responsible for creating our best community, and productive and diverse community members is what April’s mission is all about!
