Bob Egan

Bob was born and raised in Chicago. Went through the Catholic School K thru 12 system then on to Lewis College in Lockport Ill. After college Bob went to work as a government contractor administrator for the Simpson Electric Co in Chicago. Move on to become a plant manager for Hart Schaffner & Marks. Left that position to attend the Chicago Police Academy and become a police officer.

Due to a family medical condition in 1973 Bob and his family moved to Eagle River. After working for two years as a manager of a local grocery store and built their current home. In 1975 Bob and his wife Shirley and started their own business, Eagle River Tire. This is a tire and automotive repair business which they still own but are in the process transitioning the business to their son Mike.

Over the last 43 years Bob has served as an elected official as well as serving on many boards. Bob served as a Town of Washington Supervisor for 10 years, Eagle River Airport Commissioner for 19 years, member of Wisconsin Federal Property advisory board for 20 years, Vilas County Board Supervisor for 5 years, member on North Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission Executive Committee, Grow North Economic Development Corporation, Central Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation board member, Vice Chairman of the Nicolet College Board of Trustee’s.
