Stefan Anderson

Director of Land O' Lakes Chamber of Commerce

After growing up in Northfield, Minnesota, Stefan went on to receive his Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics from St. Olaf College, and his Master of Science Degree in Condensed Matter Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After completing his schooling, he began a career working in private schools. In 1995 he first visited Vilas County while chaperoning a group of high school sophomores while they spent a week at Camp Manitowish in Boulder Junction. He fell in love with the area, and in 2001, after a few more years of both chaperoning students and coming up for personal vacations, he finally found a job at the newly formed Conserve School in Land O’ Lakes.

During his 20 years at Conserve School he began as the Head of Admissions and completed his time as the Head of School. Stefan has been an active member in the local community. He has served multiple terms on the Land O’ Lakes Chamber of Commerce, served a term on the Land O’ Lakes Accommodations Commission, served on the Black Oak Lake Riparian Owners Association board, served on the Land O’ Lakes Fish & Game board, Served on the Land O’ Lakes Area Artisans board and helped with charter school planning. Much of his work, both professionally and with the community revolved around business management, marketing, and fund raising. He appreciates the chance to share his knowledge and talents for the betterment of the county he now calls home through his work with the Vilas County Economic Development Board.

Stefan’s hobbies include chess, geocaching, nature photography, fat-tire biking, and using WhatsApp to keep in touch with his twin daughters.
