Business of the Month:

Northwoods Children's Museum

Congratulations to:

Northwoods Children's Museum

The VCEDC September Business of the Month
Northwoods Children's Museum

Located in Eagle River, the Northwoods Children's Museum has thought outside the box continuing its programming and mission to give back to the community even during Covid-19.

"They have taken the time to find a safe way for families to continue to play, be creative, and learn," said Kendal Wadinski, Market Manager, Incredible Bank-Eagle River, who nominated the Northwoods Children's Museum for the VCEDC Business of the Month. "They recently have been creating "Activity Kits" for families to pick-up and do together, such as build a bird feeder with toilet paper tubes and creating a Lava Lamp, all fun things we did as kids," said Kendal.

The non-profit Northwoods Children's Museum opened its doors in April 1998 and serves the Northwoods community. This treasured community resource welcomes over 25,000 visitors per year. The museum has a total of 24 interactive exhibits and a toy store, with each exhibit designed to pique curiosity and encourage imaginative play.

"Since its opening the staff, board of directors, volunteers, and local businesses have worked hard to support the museum's mission of enriching lives, supporting families, and encouraging a love of learning through interactive play," said Aubrey Dalbec, Executive Director, Northwoods Children's Museum. "Eagle River and the surrounding Northwoods communities have been instrumental to the Northwoods Children's Museum since its beginning, and the museum is fortunate enough to have that support continue through the COVID-19 pandemic."
