"At Starlight, we are committed to providing exceptional services and high-quality, caring support to families touched by autism and related disorders."
~ April Leanna, founder of Starlight Centers for Inclusion, Inc.
April Leanna, a Board-certified Behavior Analyst, believes that each individual in the Northwoods is capable of discovering unique talents that can be utilized to strengthen our community.
"Simply, it is to feel welcome, to feel safe, to feel accepted and appreciated, to be included," said April. "Starlight promotes a community where all of our Northwoods families, especially those touched by autism and related disorders, are encouraged to make a positive social impact in our area. I believe that every individual can shine and be a star when he/she discovers his/her talent and strength."
In 2016, April graduated from a business startup course, now called Nicolet Entrepreneur Training (NET) program, offered through a partnership with the VCEDC and Nicolet College. "With ongoing support from the VCEDC, including rental space within the Eagle River Business Incubator, I was able to develop and implement my business plan, founding Starlight in 2016," said April.
Starlight currently has eight staff and provides services for eleven children among their two locations in Eagle River and Rhinelander. Starlight plans to add more staff in the near future. Those interested should contacted April Leanna at [email protected]
