We are delighted to have had the opportunity to spend a few minutes with Molly Ahlborn to learn about Ahlborn Equipment and their business established 61 years ago.
What is the Mission of Ahlborn Equipment?
Ahlborn Equipment was founded in 1961 and is a family owned and operated business. Our family loves the Northwoods and prides itself on being headquartered in Sayner, WI. In 2004, brothers Tracey and Woody Ahlborn along with their wives Tracey Anne and myself bought Ahlborn Equipment becoming the 2nd generation owners. We grew and expanded the company with many new products, sales channels and a new vision.
Our mission is simple, to offer the best quality products at the most competitive prices with the highest level of customer service and product knowledge. We offer thousands of products with our core products being chainsaw accessories, safety apparel and all high vis safety products. In addition, Ahlborn Equipment has its own in-house print shop. We started in chainsaws and have grown to safety equipment and apparel. And, we’re proud to have our own patent on chainsaw chaps.
How many employees do you have?
Ahlborn currently has close to 50 full-time employees, which many of our employees have been with us for decades. We also have contractors and part-time staff.
Do you have plans to grow your business?
Ahlborn Equipment is constantly growing by adding new products, customers and employees. Our customers range from direct dealers to national retailers, and many customers are world-wide. We have our products in every state. We’ve expanded our network from business to retail including a lot of big box stores such as Menards, and we offer online sales as well.
Why is it important for Ahlborn to give back to the community?
Ahlborn Equipment is a strong supporter and very generous to many organizations in our community. Ahlborn sponsors and supports many school sports teams and clubs, churches, the Eagle River Library, Angel on My Shoulder, Northland Pines High School Athletic Alumni Hall of Fame, and numerous college scholarships for local students, just to name a few.
Because we have such close ties to the community, we want to see the community grow. We’ve been very fortunate, and we want to help make our community strong to enable families to live and grow here. We don’t seek a lot of public recognition for our philanthropy, it comes from the heart.
